As work environments are becoming to evolve into a more modernized atmosphere, new hires are prioritizing a positive company culture over things like location, company size and certain benefits. Company culture influences nearly all aspects of the company itself. There is an important connection between associates that feel a true value in their work and those that believe that their company culture is positive.
There are 3 key ways to ensure that your associates are reaching their full potential and thriving in your positive work environment:
Value. If an associate does not see value in their work, they will be less motivated to go the extra mile on a project. The pay may be enough motivation to complete it, but it is difficult to push yourself if you don’t see a purpose. A key way to instill value in your employees is to show genuine appreciation verbally one-on-one as well as in meetings with other associates. All employee meetings where each department reports their successes and future goals can also help your associates see the evolution of their work and how it is helping the company grow.
Unity. It is crucial to your company’s culture to remember that your organization consists of smaller teams that contribute to a whole effort rather than individuals. Emphasis on teamwork and bonding will create a feeling of home in the office. In the grand scheme of things, associates are almost spending more time in your office than they are with their family. If they are not feeling a sense of belonging in an organization that they give so much time to, they are likely to look elsewhere.
Strong Leadership. All in all, leaders have the greatest impact on the company culture because they set the tone of the office as a whole. If an associate feels like their leader is not listening to their ideas or valuing their work, their motivation will drop. It is difficult to feel like on entity as a team if the individual leading you is not reaching their strongest potential.
