Let’s begin with the personal branding definition first, a brand is basically a promise. When you have a brand, it is a promise that you make and are known for keeping to the person who you are asking or trying to influence as a leader.

Human beings decide emotionally and justify logically.

Brian Tracy, American-Canadian Public Speaker, has even talked about the importance of personal branding. He has said, “If you have a good personal brand, people are willing to pay you more for your product or service and argue less.” Branding yourself means developing your professional identity to align with your core values. A personal brand statement always begins with your values. If you want to truly be a respected leader and an authority in your career you have to stand for something.

Quality- Excellence- Responsiveness- Teamwork- Innovation- Leadership– etc…these are all great core values to follow in order to make a good brand for yourself.

Then you build a fantastic personal brand by starting with the principle of integrity.

There’s no better reputation you can have other than for people to say that when they do business with you, you always fulfill your promises and follow through.

The answer for success is to do what you’ve been hired to do and do it right. Now, this can relate in every area of interactions with all people throughout the world.

Here’s a tip to remember:

“Branding is what people say about you when you are not in the room.” -Jeff Bezos, Founder and CEO of Amazon
