Minetum offers some tips that every virtual manager should follow in order to maintain a healthy workforce virtually:

  1. Use face-to-face meeting strategies

If meeting in person is not an option, still treat your team as you would in person, ask them how their days are going, make sure your team is doing well. Also, still keep a schedule that you would normally have in person as well to have structure for your team.

  1. Set aside informal time

Setting aside informal time is also important. Communicate outside of the office time to discuss nonwork related topics, such as weekend plans, family, and friends. This can make a difference in creating a more positive environment even though circumstances are different.

  1. Communicate

Being face-to-face while on video meetings is important to feel a sense of normalcy, it improves our involvement and behavior. This helps us better build connections in the virtual business environment as well. Finally, virtual relationships are built quicker when they are more one-on-one. Find ways to divide the team members into smaller breakout groups so they can thrive even more.
