3 Tips To Balance Work & Life

Finding a balance between life and work can be challenging for most people. This is especially hard in the times we are in right now, where a lot of people work from home, due to the global pandemic.

Work can be overwhelming from time to time, and result in work becoming the main concern and focus in someone’s life. Putting off quality time with loved ones, activities that one enjoys, and time for oneself can harm life and how one performs at work.

Stress is one of our biggest occupational problems of our time. Stress is the main cause of sickness absence, poor well-being, conflicts, decreased productivity, and employee retrenchment in organizations – all directly related to lost opportunities and high costs.

  1. Planning Your Week Every Sunday

Planning your week every Sunday is a great tool for getting an overview of the different tasks and appointments that have to be met in the upcoming week. Sitting down with something warm in your favorite mug with some candles, you can try to make this step into something positive and exciting. Imagine how good you will sleep knowing that you have the whole week planned out and set! Don’t forget to make time for something you enjoy and look forward to as well.

Learn to focus on mindfulness and you will increase your self-esteem and thus be better at coping with stressful situations.

  1. Set Boundaries

Set boundaries when it comes to time and accomplishments that you have to complete during the week. Maybe you should go to the gym in the morning, instead of after work? Maybe it is too much to say yes to an appointment? It is important to know your boundaries and not overwhelm yourself with too much.

  1. Get Ready For Work Even When You Work From Home

In these times, when a lot of people work from home, it can be easy to sleep for some extra hours or sit on the couch in some comfy clothes while doing work. This might work for some people, but this can also make you less efficient because there is no difference between work time and relaxed time. Doing your makeup, styling your hair, and putting on an outfit can make you more productive and also prepared for any surprised Zoom calls that might happen that day.

To accommodate virtual teams and individuals working from home across the globe, we can now offer ALL of our training programs and consulting services remotely!
